Early round victories over Bristol Bay (47-26) and Unalakleet (56-39) in last weekend’s state tournament set up a showdown with the Unalaska Raiders for the championship at Anchorage’s Alaska Airlines Center.     March 25, 1916 – The two-deck gasboat Prince of Wales, from Wrangell, was in port yesterday morning, on her way to Juneau, from where she will take the Sitka run of the Georgia while the latter is undergoing repairs.     The Petersburg High School boys basketball team took two games from Craig last week to end the regular season and earn a No. 1 seed at Regionals. The team will have a first round bye when the tournament kicks off on Wednesday, then face the winner of the Craig and Haines contest in second round action at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday.   • Buschmann Park gets new dream-themed sculpture

    Buschmann Park in downtown Petersburg received a long awaited addition last Friday. The bronze sculpture named "Everything starts with a dream" by local artist Eric Larson was installed. "It's a huge relief, I was apprehensive taking it down there, but then once it went in it was like 'oh, yeah,'" Larson says with a chuckle.     Petersburg High School sent six wrestlers to State in Anchorage last weekend. Although the results were somewhat underwhelming the experience should help build the Viking wrestling program. The team consisted of a freshman, a sophomore, three juniors and a senior, and they combined to take 22nd place among 30 teams.
