It was the team's first time partaking in the Big C Relays, an event put on by the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. The Petersburg soccer team traveled to Juneau for a tournament held on March 11-13, and brought home third place. All of the opponents for Petersburg were from Juneau. Normally there is a team or two from Whitehorse at the tournament, but they did not make it this year. Twelve players made the trip, including 17-year-old Axel Vides. The last time the Vikings took on the Chiefs the games went differently with the Vikings keeping Danny Marsden of Metlakatla in check.
