    The Viking girls make a quick stop in Juneau for games Wednesday before heading to Sitka and came up short. The junior varsity lost to Juneau-Douglas three games to one and varsity lost two games to three and two games to none. The girls fared better as they made their way to Sitka.     The Petersburg Smashanuskas finished 12th overall and eighth in their category in a field of 123 teams in the Klondike Road Relay last week.     The Viking Cross Country team traveled to Craig over the weekend where the girls finished in second place.     The Petersburg Viking volleyball team played host to Sitka and the varsity girls shut out all games this past weekend. The Vikings team consists of 14 freshmen, one junior and 10 seniors.     Petersburg hosted the 2012 Region V Jamboree for the first time.     The Petersburg men's and women's cross-country teams put their running shoes to the road in Sitka for the first meet of the season Friday, Aug. 24. The women placed seventh overall out of nine teams beating Craig and Sitka and the men placed last in 10th place.
