Lady Vikings get a win against very good team

Mt Edgecumbe’s Lady Braves came to town last weekend to face off with the Lady Vikings.

Friday’s game was a triumph for the Petersburg girls.

“It was our best game of the year,” said Vikings girls coach Dino Brock. “We played with a lot of confidence and focus.”

After doing what Brock described as a better job of taking care of the basketball, getting into the offense and rebounding, the Lady Vikings finished the game 51-44.

Scoring was nicely balanced across the team. Carolyn Kvernvik with 12 and Emily Luczak with 17 were the leaders, but there were good contributions from Elena Fitts with 4,...
