American flags planted on the burial sites of Petersburg veterans on Memorial Day.
The Petersburg Ministerial Association conducted a Memorial Service for the veterans buried in the Petersburg Memorial Cemetery Monday.
“Even with terrible weather we had a large turnout,” Petersburg Ministerial Association President Mike Schwarte said.
The service was opened with patriotic songs and prayer. Lloyd Thynes gave the definition of the folding of the flag; Tony Long Drew recited the Gettysburg Address; and Mark Kubo recited Psalm 34.
