Maggie Jimmie, 90

Maggie Jimmie, 90 passed away July 25, 2012 at Wildflower Court Nursing Home, Juneau, Alaska. She was born on June 3, 1922 in Wrangell, Alaska, to Mary and George White.

She was married to her first husband Edward Lester Skeek who passed in 1960 trying to save his four children in Petersburg. She worked at Pacific Fishing Inc. in Petersburg until she retired. Maggie married Tommy Jimmie Sr. on July 30, 1966 and became a housewife and devoted her time to evangelize in the state of Washington, Alaska and Canada with her husband. She loved attending church at Thunder Mountain Church of God, where she earnestly played her tambourine for the Lord

Maggie Jimmie is of the Killer whale clan of Chief Shakes island in Wrangell. Her grandmother Mary James (Jones) from Wrangell, was the sister of Charlie Jones, also known as Chief Shakes.

Maggie was preceded in her death by husband Tommy Jimmie Sr., sister Elizabeth Williams, brother Billy White, daughter Margaret Sterling, daughter Ivy Berkley, daughter Eleanor Skeek, daughter Myrna Skeek, and son Harlan Skeek and children's father Edward Lester Skeek.

Maggie lived only with her grandmother Mary James (Jones) and grew up in Kake, Alaska, with the following as she knew only as her brothers and sisters, all of whom have preceded her in death: Kelly James, Billy James, Charlie James, Nellie Hanson, Mae Pacion and Mary White.

Maggie is survived by her daughter Mildred Eskey, grandchildren Davida Phillips, Yvonne Phillips, Millie Dyne, Myrna Cassutt, Byron Sakamoto, Lisa Wallen, Charles Sterling, Mark Sterling, Michelle Sterling, Patrick Berkley, Eleanor Berkley, Kelly Berkley, Benjamin Berkley Jr., Kenny Berkley, Donna Berkley, and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and cousins.

Memorial services will be held on August 18 at 6:00 p.m. at The Church of God located at 8497 Thunder Mountain Road in Juneau.
