Christopher Alan Torwick, 25, died August 5, 2012 at home in Sterling, Alaska.
Chris was born July 21, 1987 in Soldotna, Alaska. He graduated from Soldotna High School and later received his Master ASE Certification. Chris worked at Moose River Auto and RV and also for Chinook Trucking. He volunteered at the Sterling Senior Center and the Alaska Christian Retreat. Chris loved electronics, tinkering with cars and anything outdoors.
He was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Marvin and Virginia Peterson; grandfathers, Roy Torwick, Kenneth Purselley, and Jim Porter.
He is survived by his mother and step-father, Karen and Craig Porter of Soldotna; father and step mother, Mark and Sheri Torwick of Sterling; brother and sister in-law, John and Jenny Torwick of Sterling; sister and brother in-law Sasha and Jordan Graham of Ames, Iowa; brothers Jacob Torwick of Barsto, Calif. and Keith Porter of Soldotna; sister, Julia Torwick of Sterling; grandmothers, Phyllis Torwick of Sterling and Audrey Porter of Owensboro, Kent.; grandparents, Linda and Harold Lashley of Granbury, Texas and Bob and Charlotte Baggett of Washington; uncles and aunts, Gregg and Carolin Torwick of San Diego, Calif., Steve and Lorie Baggett of Sterling, Scott and Laura Baggett of Washington, Gary and Shelly Purselley of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Ryan and Heather Lashley of Granbury; nieces Sadie and Lillie Torwick of Sterling, and many other aunts, uncles and cousins.
Memorial services where held on August 11 at Soldotna Church of God.
A celebration of life will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 1, 2012 at Chris Athey's House, call John for directions 953-2570.
