June Alice White, 91, passed away at Petersburg’s Long Term Care Center on November 14, 2012.

A true Alaskan pioneer, June was born in Petersburg on June 11, 1921 to parents Carl and Elizabeth Roger. As a toddler, she owned the first share of stock issued in the Northern Fox & Fur Farm. She spent her girlhood at the log house her father built overlooking Wrangell Narrows and Frederick Sound and in Port Alexander where her parents managed a restaurant in the summertime.
