Michael “Ski” Joseph Musewski, 70, passed away in Sitka, Alaska surrounded by his family on Wednesday May 22, 2013.
He was born to the late Michael and Anna (Sadowski) Muszewski on December 14, 1942 in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Ski graduated from high school and went on to serve in the United States Coast Guard. During his tenure in the Coast Guard, Ski met his future wife Barbara (Kito) while stationed in Petersburg, Alaska and decided to lay down his roots.
Family, friends, and the Alaskan outdoors were the bright spots of Ski’s life. He had an infectious smile, kind heart, and quick wit. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Ski is survived by his wife, Barbara; his children, Greg, Tina, Petula, Maryann, and Harry; his grandchildren Toni, Zac, Lydia, Jimmy, Chellsey, Paddy, Kersten, Rikki, Mariah, and Jerry; his great-grandchildren Austin and Koven; and a multitude of other family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Michael and Anna, and his daughter Edna.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Friday, May 31, 2013 at the Saint Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Petersburg, Alaska; immediately followed by a burial service at the Petersburg Memorial Cemetery. A reception will be held directly after services at the Moose Lodge for friends and family to remember and celebrate his life.
