The first edition of the Petersburg Pilot was published 40 years ago this week after the Petersburg Press ceased publication in January 1974. The front-page photo featured a Roscoe Hoiosen photo of the Petersburg Viking Drill Team. Team members included Susie Hofstad, Debbie Morgan, Diana Morgan, Pat Marifern, Karen Kvernvik, Heidi Sommerville, Carol Martinson, Diane Sandvik, Marcy File, Brenda Garceau, Shari Roesel, Maria Otness and Mary Worhatch.
