Gary Freitag introduced Petersburg youngsters to his submersible remote operated vehicle (ROV) aboard the M/V Kestrel. The ROV is rated to submerge to a depth of 800 feet where it can take pictures of what's lurking beneath the surface. ROVs can reach depths more difficult for most sport divers and go places where conditions aren't ideal for human divers. The tour was facilitated by the Petersburg Public Library.
