O'Rear honored with presidential award

Petersburg Borough Clerk Kathy O' Rear receives a 2014 presidential award of distinction from Mayor Mark Jensen on behalf of the Alaska Association of Municipal Clerks during the Monday evening Assembly meeting. O'Rear has served as a clerk for over 30 years, working some 16 years in Michigan and 14 years in Petersburg. A major milestone from her work in Petersburg involved helping with the transition from a city to a borough. Though O'Rear is often behind-the-scenes, listeners of the assembly meetings may best know her for answering to a host of issues when assembly members ask, "What's the protocol on that, Kathy?"
