Thomas Patrick Lyons, 54, died on January 26, 2015 in Petersburg, Alaska.
He was born on December 20, 1960 to Myron Lyons, Sr. and Gertrude Hallingstad Lyons. His ancestry consists of the Tlingit tribe (Seal Clan) and Norwegian on his mother's side. His father came to Petersburg from Grand Rapids, Minn.
His grandmother was Amy Hallingstad, she and his mother Gertrude accomplished much for Tlingit rights, gaining much respect.
One of his proudest moments was receiving his GED diploma.
He was loved by all who knew him for his generosity, kindness and sense of humor.
He enjoyed the company of his many friends and the support they gave him, greeting them with a smile, never harsh word. He wasn't one to hold a grudge for those who may have wronged him. Up until the end of his life, he hid his pain and held a brave face.
He was preceded in death by his sons Thomas Merlin, Elijah, Richard and Casper Lyons; mother Gertrude Lyons; father Myron Lyon, Sr .; brother JC Lyons; niece Brenda Lyons; grandparents Amy and Casper Hallingstad and George and Mary Lyons.
He is survived by his daughters Crystal, Mary and Teara; grand children Scottlyn, Aiden, Aries, Aaron and Bonnie; brothers Myron Jr., Colyn, Jeff, Byron and Gordon; uncles Johnas Hallingstad, Neil, Bill and Dave Lyons; aunt Gloria Hallingstad Ferrians; nieces and nephews Katy, Ayla, Christopher, Craig, Holli, Natocha, Colt, Shayla, Jerrica, Chelsey, Brandon, Cody, Samone, Byron Jr., Steven and Felicia; great nieces Brenda and Lily; and many cousins, aunts and uncles who live out of town.
A service was held on Feb. 4 at the Presbyterian Church
and a potluck followed at the ANB Hall.
