The Petersburg soccer team traveled to Juneau for a tournament held on March 11-13, and brought home third place. All of the opponents for Petersburg were from Juneau. Normally there is a team or two from Whitehorse at the tournament, but they did not make it this year. Twelve players made the trip, including 17-year-old Axel Vides.
The tournament is typically for players over 30, but this year officials loosened age requirements in order to increase participation. Having the youthful legs of Vides on the squad was different, but fun and he scored a lot of goals for the team, said coach Joe Vi...
