Diane Marie (Lund) Forde, 73, died peacefully at home in Mukilteo, Washington on July 12, 2016 after a courageous 5-year battle with cancer.
Diane was born on March 14, 1943 in Petersburg, Alaska and grew up in a small home on Lumber Street with her dad Arne, mom Dolores, and brother Dennis. She graduated from PHS, was salutatorian of her class in 1961, and chose Oregon State University to continue her education.
While still in High School in Alaska; she met Alf Forde from Ketchikan, who was playing basketball against her home-team. They were introduced, and their love story began.
Diane graduated from OSU in 1965. She was the second female president of the student body.
Diane went on to a life of selflessly volunteering her time and talents. She worked tirelessly keeping books for Alf and Dianes' commercial fishing business. She was a member of the Daughters of Norway, sat on an advisory board for the Everett Herald, was part of the SnoKing Chorale, and countless school and church organizations. Special to Diane's heart was Maple Park Lutheran Church, where she played piano and organ, accompanying countless musicians, and services.
She is survived by her husband, Alf, of 51 years; daughters Kirsten Forsythe (Jon), Kari McIntyre (Steve), Kaia DeBoer (JP); grandchildren Nicholas, Chandler (Zackary), Hannah, Tessa, Karl, Trygve, and Sylvi; and brother, Dennis Lund (Nancy).

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, August 6, 1:00pm at Aurora Community Nazarene Church, 1900 N. 175th St, Shoreline, Washington.
