The Petersburg Public Library had 196 kids register for the summer reading program this year and the participants racked up a total of 135,020 minutes. Almost 90 kids in the program read at least 840 minutes and were invited to a special pool party last week. 55 kids showed up to enjoy cake and spend time in the water playing with floaties, including a killer whale, a great white shark and a large turtle. The kids also wrote thank you notes to program sponsors after finding out which sponsored prize they won in the raffle. Above: Devyn Flint, was all smiles while showing off her thank you card to Ester Olson, a library volunteer.
