July 13, 1917 – Up to yesterday evening, 41 cards had been filled out at the S. of N. and Trading Union by men subject to registration for military purposes under the president’s proclamation. Mayor Otness, who is acting as registrar, requests that when fishing schooners reach port the skippers see to it that all members of crew subject to registration are enrolled before the vessel again sails.
