Lisa Ann Johnston, 58 passed away peacefully in Petersburg, Alaska, on July 17, 2017 after a long illness. Her sister, Donna and her mother Bonnie were by her side.
She was born June 7, 1959 the third of four children. She went to grade school in Ridgefield, Washington. She was involved in many activities such as the Girls Athletic Association, Cheerleading, Drill Team, riding the family horse in parades and competing on the track team.
She earned her cosmetology license and worked as a beautician after she graduated from high school. In 1983 Lisa and her brother Gary decided to travel to Alaska to work in the cannery in Petersburg. When it was time to come home she could not bring herself to leave, she had fallen in love with the town, mountains, the scenery and fishing.
She met Bill Johnston shortly after and they were married in 1984, together they had two sons, Nicholas and Garitt. The constant in Lisa's life was her love for her boys and her family.
In her spare time she went camping, fishing, boating, and bargain hunting. She was a good cook and loved picking and making low bush cranberry sauce for Thanksgiving dinner.
Lisa was a prankster, like the time she came to family Christmas Dinner and presented each person with an unexpected gift, imagine the surprise when the gifts were baking soda, old socks, and her Uncle received the package with a used bra in it. We can still hear the laughter.
Her father Ron and her brother Gary, preceded her in death.
She is survived by her sons, Nicholas and Garitt, of Petersburg, mother Yvonne (Bonnie) of Ridgefield, Washington, sister Donna (Lynn) of Petersburg, brother Danny (Mitchell) of Portland, Oregon, uncle Dennis Eaton and aunt Jewell Eaton of Ridgefield, Washington, cousins Dennis (Amy) and Mark (Jennifer) Eaton of Vancouver, Washington as well as several nieces and nephews.
