The Petersburg Cross Country team was recognized at the high school on Tuesday for its performance at the regional and state meets.
The boys and girls both qualified for the ASAA Division II, 1A, 2A and 3A State Championship meet in Anchorage two weeks ago. That's the second time in four years both teams made it and the third time in about two decades, said Tommy Thompson, the head coach.
Of the 14 teams in division two, the boys' team placed ninth. The girls' team finished in fourth place among 13 teams.
