The Petersburg Volunteer Fire Department responded
to two more boat fires this week.
Two engines responded to the South Boat Harbor last Thursday, where a fire aboard the Carolyn Ann was likely ignited by an electrical mishap.
“A harbor officer saw smoke in the early stages of his
rounds around the harbor,” said Ed Tagaban, administrative assistant with the harbor department, adding that it was Ben Hinde. “He extinguished the flames.”
