March 8, 1918 Joe Hall, of the Alaska Clam Canning Company reports the new enterprise as progressing satisfactorily. Clams in fair supply and of excellent quality are now being received at the company’s cannery near Tonka. They expect to make the first shipment of four hundred cases of the canned product next week.
