United States Postal Service officials estimate the Petersburg Post Office will reopen this Friday, Sept. 20. Officials had previously expected the post office to resume normal retail and PO box operations by this past weekend.
The Petersburg Post Office has now been closed since late Thurs., Sept. 13 after a package leaked mercury inside the facility, according to a statement issued by the United States Postal Service.
