In a drill at the Petersburg Medical Center, officers restrained a volunteer active shooter to help employees practice responding to that scenario on Dec. 12. When the volunteer active shooter entered the building, a 911 call was placed to let the police department know that the drill had started. The active shooter entered the building at 1:57 P.M. and was restrained by 2:05, according to public relations coordinator Kelsey Lambe.
