March 21, 1919 Leaflets giving a list of fishing industries in Alaska, together with the Alaska and local addresses of each company, have been compiled by the Alaska bureau of the Chamber of Commerce. As in previous seasons, salmon heads the list with more than a hundred canneries, nearly as many salteries and fifty mild-cure plants. Herring ranks next in importance, with the market created by war conditions.
