Polly Lee stands next to her painting titled, "Tree," at the Women's Invitational Art Show reception on Nov. 1 at the Clausen Memorial Museum. This year's theme was "Cycles" and each artist was free to interpret the theme in any way they chose. Lee completed here piece in 2016 after working on it for several years at a time in her life when she was interested in human history. Trees, Lee said, are forever circling in the human conscious. Other artists took the theme more literally, painting a washing machine mid-cycle and a circular "Evil Eye." Some saw inspiration in the cycles of the moon and the cycles of their lives. The Women's Invitational Art Show will be on display at the museum until Saturday.
