Letter to the Editor

Experts can disagree. And they ARE disagreeing, both about the lethality of the coronavirus, and about the appropriateness of the steps that have been taken to protect public health.

Compare the differing perspectives of Knut M. Wittkowski, PhD, and Dr. Michael Ryan.

Wittkowski, former head of the Department of Biostatistics, Epidemiology, and Research Design at the Rockefeller University, suggests children should return to school and pass the virus around just like every flu season, while sequestering the vulnerable population. In that way we will get to herd immunity as fast as possible, and then the elderly can come back to visit with their children and grandchildren. If you prevent the virus from spreading among "the youth," the virus stays there longer, spreading to the elderly and those with comorbidities, and we have more death.

He maintains there is no evidence anywhere in the world that the lockdown had any positive effect, but that there is a lot of evidence to suggest that "flattening the curve" prolongs the virus, and prevents herd immunity from building up. In this scenario, whenever "interventions" cease, the virus will pick back up and begin infecting again. This way, you keep it going, and keep reinstating lockdown. https://www.thecollegefix.com/epidemiologist-coronavirus-could-be-exterminated-if-lockdowns-were-lifted/ https://youtu.be/5g4u1LJQ7_k?t=5013 (TheHighWire)

On the other hand, Dr. Ryan of the World Health Organization says, "In some sense, this transmission has been taken off the streets, and pushed back into family units. Now, we need to go and look in families to find those people who may be sick, and remove them... and isolate them in a safe and dignified manner."

He wishes to go into homes and find those sick people and remove them - perhaps you! or your children! and place them somewhere to wait things out. This will be done with "dignity," he says. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kgHeuzM6mDU (Tucker Carlson)

It is useful to have these contrasting views of reality, because they give us a little bit better glimpse of what might be the truth.

For example, experts also disagree on whether a safe vaccine for coronavirus can even be made.

Dr. Paul Offit of C.H.O.P. and Dr. Peter Hotez, both seasoned makers of vaccines, urge great caution in this endeavor and warn of the high possibility of harm. https://youtu.be/5g4u1LJQ7_k?t=7932 (The HighWire)

But Dr. Anthony Fauci, whose word regarding the state of the country's health seems to be gospel right now, and Bill Gates both insist there will be no return to normal life until that magic bullet, the coronavirus vaccine, appears.

What they're not telling you is that no company has ever been able to produce a successful vaccine against a SARS coronavirus before. vaccine manufacturers have tried and failed several times, because so many test subjects died in the animal safety trials that "caution" was advised moving forward to the human trial phase. That's what Dr. Hotez was referring to. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3335060/

This time, the animal safety trials may just be dispensed with altogether. Straight to humans! If a future vaccine becomes mandatory, I'd rather not be part of a post-marketing data test population, especially since, as spelled out in the PREP Act, it will be liability-free for the manufacturer. But a mandatory vaccine for all appears to be the end game.
