The River and Harbor Act passed by the last session of Congress provides for a survey of Wrangell Narrows for the purpose of obtaining data as to the feasibility of dredging the Narrows and probable cost. One of the chief advantages to Petersburg from the deepening and straightening of Wrangell Narrows would be better boat service. At present only the smaller boats stop here and they have to wait for favorable tides.
