New security gates are being installed along the perimeter of the James A. Johnson airport this fall. Island Contractors of Juneau is completing the $2,220,666 project, according to Garrett Paul construction project manager for AK DOT-PF. New style hatchet or cantilever gates are replacing rolling gates and the project includes seven pedestrian and four vehicle gates.
