Rick was born in Petersburg, Alaska to Elmer Whitethorn and Margaret Roundtree Whitethorn. Rick had such a happy life in Petersburg and was so proud to be a member of the "Lumber Street Gang". He told wonderful stories about Alaska, and his eyes would light up remembering his brothers, friends and cousins, parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles there. He was preceded in death by his parents and older brother, Elmer (Butch) Whitethorn.
Rick is survived by his wife, Pat; his two canine "kids", Jack & Lucy; daughter, Angie; step-daughter, Allie; grandsons, Greg, Brendan, Ethan, and great-grandson Blayze; brother, Ole (Eloise); and many nieces and nephews and many friends. He loved his family dearly.
Thank you to Willamette Valley Hospice for all the wonderful care given to Rick. Donations can be made to American Cancer Society.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
