January 8, 1933 - February 24, 2021
Dorothy M. Bains, 88, passed away peacefully at her home on February 24, 2021.
She was born in Bremerton, Washington on January 8, 1933, and grew up in Everett, Washington. She retired from the Boeing Aerospace Company in 1994, and relocated to Sequim, Washington. She moved to Petersburg in May of 2016, after the passing of her husband, Herb.
Dorothy loved to help others; it wasn't long before she was the mail lady for Wikan Enterprises. Almost daily she was in awe-there was always a kind person to help, when a big package needed to get to her car. A special thank you to all who helped. Those who knew her, called her "Grannie" and admired the many hats she wore. She enjoyed coffee with the ladies on Fridays, family gatherings, and was always up for a cruise.
Dorothy's loved ones would like to thank the Home Health team at Petersburg Medical Center. They provided extraordinary, compassionate, family-centered care. Their support was invaluable.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter Sheri (John) Wikan, son Steve (Karin) Case, son Paul (Angie) Bains, son David (Jeff) Bains, and daughter Neena (Jeff) Hagerman. Grandchildren; Jon Wikan, Raina Haltiner, Rick Wikan, Angela Menish, Erica Wikan, Chris Case, Ryan Case, Emily Hagerman and Hattie Bains. Great Grandchildren; Casey Menish, Peyton Menish, Bekka Haltiner, Jakob Wikan, Kårinna Wikan and Evie Wikan.
In remembrance of Dorothy M. Bains, donations may be made to the Petersburg Medical Center Foundation for Home Health Services.
