May 26, 1922 The inauguration of a weekly mail service between Petersburg and Juneau including Cape Fanshaw and other way points beginning July 1st has been announced by postmaster Jacob Otness. The contract for the service has been awarded to George Remstead, of Fanshaw. The contract covers a period of four years. It calls for weekly trips between Juneau and Petersburg with calls at Gambier Bay, Pybus Bay, Brothers Island, Five Finger Light, and Cape Fanshaw. Under certain conditions on each second trip between October 1 and March 31 calls may be omitted at all points covered in the contract...
