Police report

May 24 – An officer provided a courtesy transport to an individual on Mitkof Highway needing assistance getting to the hospital.

Petersburg Police Department (PPD) received a report of a dangerous driver on South 3rd Street but the responding officer was unable to locate the described vehicle.

An officer provided a courtesy transport to an individual on Fram Street.

An officer responded to a complaint of a parked vehicle blocking access on North 2nd Street. The owner was contacted and the vehicle was moved.

May 25 – An officer conducted extra foot patrols downtown.

An officer conducted a civil stand-by on Chief John Lott Street.

An officer responded to a report of a dangerous driver on North 1st Street.

PPD received a report of a deer struck by a vehicle on Mitkof Highway. The Alaska Fish and Wildlife Trooper (AFWT) was notified.

Officers conducted additional patrols on Charles W Street.

May 26 – An officer spoke with an individual on South Nordic Drive concerning a civil issue.

A vehicle reported stolen from Dolphin Street was recovered.

A dog reported to have run away from Lumber Street was found by its owner.

A driver on Haugen Drive was issued a warning for speed and informed their vehicle is not to be driven until registered or it will be impounded.

A driver on Haugen Drive was issued warnings for tail light requirements, failure to display registration and failure to produce motor vehicle liability insurance.

Officers responded to assist Emergency Medical Services (EMS) with a medical issue on North Nordic Drive.

Jared Burns was remanded for alleged violation of parole conditions with additional charges of disorderly conduct and criminal mischief in the 4th degree.

An officer assisted EMS on North Nordic Drive.

May 27 – An officer responded to a report of suspicious activity on Chief John Lott Street.

A driver on Nordic Drive was issued a warning for failure to display registration.

An officer responded to an alarm activation on North 2nd Street and found all okay.

PPD received a report of lost property.

Valon Weathers was issued a citation for failure to stop at a stop sign.

An officer investigated a potential theft and found the report was unfounded.

A driver on South Nordic Drive was issued warnings for speed, failure to display registration and failure to produce motor vehicle liability insurance.

A driver on Haugen Drive was issued a warning for failure to stop at a stop sign.

An officer responded to a report of harassment on Haugen Drive but was unable to locate the alleged perpetrator.

A driver on Haugen Drive was issued a warning for headlight requirements.

PPD received a report of a disturbance and the responding officer provided a courtesy ride to an individual not allowed to return to a business.

A driver on Skylark Way was issued a warning for headlight requirements.

An officer spoke with an individual on South 2nd Street regarding potential harassment.

May 28 – An officer provided a courtesy transport to an individual at the Crane Dock.

An officer responded to a noise complaint on South 3rd Street.

An officer conducted foot patrols in North Harbor.

A driver on South 6th Street was issued a warning for failure to display registration.

May 29 – An officer spoke with an individual on South Nordic Drive concerning a civil issue.

PPD received a noise complaint on South 3rd Street.

An officer conducted foot patrols at Sandy Beach Park.

May 30 – PPD received a wildlife complaint on North 1st Street.

A citizen turned found property in to the PPD.

An officer assisted with a lock-out on Haugen Drive.

An individual on South 2nd Street spoke with dispatch concerning a civil issue.

Suspicious individuals were reported to be working out at the Elementary School playground.
