October 12, 1923 – Work has been started on the erection of a Catholic Church on the recently purchased property on Third Street, opposite the little school house. The new structure will cost between three and four thousand dollars when completed, according to a statement made by Father Gallant, of Skagway, who is here overseeing the work of the erection.
