Hospital funding

To the Editor:

According to recent news, the hospital did not receive the state funding they requested in the capital budget. I still have a problem with the fact that we were not given the opportunity to vote on the issue of supporting the construction of a brand new hospital, including medical campus. Both my husband and I, along with a number of other people, requested a vote but were told that because the residents of Petersburg were not going to pay for the hospital, a vote of approval was not going to happen.
