This month, twelve athletes from the Devil's Thumb Shooters - Petersburg's youth marksmanship program - flew north to compete in the Alaska Youth Education in Shooting Sports (YESS) State Tournament in Chugiak.
They joined competitors from 18 teams across the state, and the tournament results speak to the caliber of Petersburg's shooting athletes - with first, second, and third place finishes across several disciplines and divisions.
