(Figure 1): The certified teacher salary schedule for fiscal year 2025 brings the minimum salary to $50,348 and the maximum to $92,681. The chart above details the salary for each "step" on the schedule. Beginning in the top left corner and moving down on the y-axis, each step is an additional year of service as a classroom teacher. Moving right on the x-axis, each column is based on factors like college education, professional development through in-service courses, and graduate education. As a teacher continues their career and chooses to further their own education, they progress in the schedule. For example, a teacher freshly graduated with a bachelor's degree would be placed in the upper left section of the schedule with a lower salary, whereas a teacher with several years of experience and a master's degree and additional course credits would be placed in the bottom right section of this salary schedule and earn more money.
The certified negotiated agreement between the Associated Teachers of Petersburg (ATP) and Petersburg School District is now official. The contract will serve for the next three years.
The contract was ratified by ATP in summer, after the borough funded the district to the maximum allowable cap and the legislature's one-time funding survived the veto pen. With the conditions met, the school board approved the agreement at their meeting Aug. 13.
