The Mitkof Middle School Lego Robotics team recently competed in the state competition in Anchorage. The tournament was composed of 29 schools across Alaska, and Petersburg's team placed fourth overall, qualifying – for the first time ever –for the national meet held in Worcester, Massachusetts, in June.
Petersburg's team's remotely operated vehicle project took first place in the category for innovation to help solve real world problems. Innovation was one of the four categories the team competed in.
