The Petersburg Lady Vikings entered the regional tournament as the #5 seed, with their first game against the #4 seed, Wrangell Lady Wolves. The Lady Vikings got off to a slow start – facing a 14-6 deficit at the end of the first quarter. However, the Lady Vikings were able to go on an 11-4 run to pull within 18-17 at halftime.
"I felt like Wrangell had the advantage in the first and then we had the advantage in the second quarter," head coach Matt Pawuk said. "I was pretty happy with where we were at heading into halftime.
