Martha Luan Madole was born on April 12, 1960, in Tuscumbia, Missouri, to Orville and Wilma (McConnell) Alexander.
In 1978 she graduated from Eldon High School in Eldon, Missouri, and joined the workforce as a secretary. She married Thomas Olaf Madole on December 8, 1979, at Blue Springs Baptist Church near Eldon, Missouri. After a while, Luan began to work with her husband as a pastor's wife. When her husband became a Village Public Safety Officer, she moved back to her hometown near Eldon to await his retirement.
After her husband's death on March 19, 2013, she moved to Papillion, Nebraska, and then to Petersburg, Alaska, where she was happy to be near her daughter and family.
Luan was an accomplished piano player and enjoyed photography and crafts. As a member of the Lighthouse Assembly of God Church in Petersburg she led a prayer ministry, helped with the church books for four years and led the children's ministry for three years.
Luan passed away on March 21, 2025. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Eugene Ray Alexander.
Survivors include a son, Seth (Trisha) Madole of Bethel, Alaska; daughters, Mindy (Nathan) Lopez of Petersburg, Alaska, and Charly (Roger) Baird of Wasilla, Alaska; grandchildren, Kaiden Mays of Osage Beach, Missouri, Shayla Madole of Phoenix, Arizona, Kasiah, Cadence and Daven Lopez all of Petersburg, Alaska, Kelsen, Brycen, Thomas and Brynlee Madole, all of Bethel, Alaska, Malachi, Ezra and Edyn Baird, all of Wasilla, Alaska; sisters, Paula Lewis of Branson, Missouri, and Sharene (Dane) Vernon of Mission, Texas; a niece and several nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, April 3, at the Lighthouse Assembly of God in Petersburg, Alaska. A Celebration of Life will be held in Missouri at a later date.
